New NCCC Reports Target Regulatory Reform on Chronic Illness Care
Three new reports on regulatory reform for people with chronic conditions
are now available. The reports identify and analyze the principal obstacles
to high quality, integrated care for Medicare beneficiaries with multiple
chronic conditions. A Guide to Regulatory Reform for People with Chronic
Conditions identifies those issues that are most important to address and
offers a framework for problem resolution. Companion issue briefs give
special focus to obstacles to the provision of comprehensive patient
assessment, care planning, and care management and physician reimbursement
issues faced by primary care physicians specializing in care of Medicare
beneficiaries with multiple, complex medical conditions. These reports were
prepared by Health Policy Alternatives, Inc. in collaboration with the
National Chronic Care Consortium.
